[01]What it does/ Retention

The cheapest customer you will win is one you already had.

Retention is the work that pays best and gets done least, because it is never urgent. knot watches the dates your trade runs on, reaches out on the day it matters, and asks for the review while the job is still fresh.

[02]Why this is brokenthe problem

The list of people who would come back is sitting in your system.

The six-month recall, the customer whose registration is due, the lead who said 'not yet' in March. Every one of them is cheaper to win than a stranger, and every one of them needs someone to remember on the right day.

[03]What the agent actually does5 jobs
  1. Reach out when it is due

Watches the recall, the service interval, the renewal date, and makes contact on the day rather than the month after.

  2. Reduce the no-shows

Confirms and reminds ahead of the appointment, and hears the cancellation early enough for the slot to be worth something.

  3. Fill a slot that just opened

Offers a cancelled slot to the people who wanted that time, before it becomes an hour of paid staff and no customer.

  4. Wake a dormant enquiry

Comes back to the person who said 'not right now' when the thing they were waiting for actually happens.

  5. Ask for the review

Asks once, at the point the customer is happiest, and never asks the same person twice.

[05]Questions3 answers
Is this just an automated reminder tool?
A reminder tool sends on a date. This holds the conversation that follows: the customer replies asking to move it, or asking what it costs, or saying they have moved away, and the agent handles all three rather than dropping them into an inbox.
How do you avoid pestering the same people?
Opt-outs are permanent and they apply everywhere, not per campaign. The agent also knows what it already asked and when, so a customer who declined a review in January does not get asked again in February.
Where does the list come from?
Your own systems, which is the point. It is your diary, your CRM and your job history. We are not selling you a list, we are working the one you already own and do not have time to work.
